Back to London*
London: April 16 – April 18
I arrived back in London quite late and man did it take FOREVER to get to Eric’s place (seriously at least three hours from when I landed). He had been drinking so it was a bit funny. We sat up and chatted until at least 6:00 with the sun rising and the birds chirping. We finally caught some sleep and woke up at a whopping 12:00, with only about six hours of sleep. We made breakfast and headed into the center. We walked through Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, and along the Thames…my goodbye to London. We had great fish and chips at the Swan across from Regent’s Park. At 2000 we met in Ealing Broadway to drink with JM and Sara. We sat there for about 2.5 hours having pints and catching up. This was Eric’s first time meeting this group of friends and was it a blast. We ended the night in Southall in a typical Sara style. What a blast…man was I going to miss this city. We finally arrived home at about 4:00 and hit the bead again around 6:00.
I did not want my last full day in London to be filled with sleep, so I called four hours enough and proceeded to pack all of my belongings. Eric and I had my last full English breakfast at a nearby café and headed to Oxford Street. I had a couple of things I wanted to purchase and a couple of souvenirs I needed. Once shopping was over, we tubed it back to Eric’s and I said my goodbye. We really had no idea when we would see each other again…but that is what adventures do. Lugging all of my stuff onto a bus, up and down stairs and onto a train, I sure was happy to see Foxy at the train station in Richmond. I was spending my last night with my boss and his girlfriend. We had the most amazing fish and chips, breaded sausages, and eggs for dinner. HOLY CATS was it huge and delicious. We were going to go to the pub, but decided to stay in and watch footy.
That morning we threw all my junk back into his boot and headed to school. That day was in-service so there were no kids around. I headed into school and caught up with some of the teachers and said quite a few goodbyes. I really hope I come back! Peter and Rebecca drove me to the airport and we said our goodbyes. This goodbye was really hard, here were people I had worked, partied, and confided in for six months, and I had to say goodbye not knowing if I would ever see them again. Hmmm…hopefully I will.
