Coming to terms...and my thoughts

Some of you may be aware that I have decided to not stay in London. The decision has been a tough one and one that I am still not sure if it is the right one to make. As of two weeks ago, I had been sponsored for a work permit and the only form left for me to complete was one in regards to a visa. After filling the entire visa form out, I called into the Home Office here in the UK to ask one clarifying question, only to have by hopes dashed. They told me I needed to return to the USA and resubmit all of my paperwork as well as have the school redo its paperwork because of a technicality. Because of the cost of plane tickets, and other opportunities for me to travel, I decided to take the gamble and go travel.

In two weeks time I will be backpacking Ireland and the mainland continent (Portugal, Spain, Andora, France, Italy, and Switzerland) for five weeks. Following this I will return to the States for a couple of weeks before I travel to South America. I plan on spending 6 to 8 weeks in South America backpacking around and seeing friends. After this, I have another trip in the works for a completely different continent...Asia. This trip is only in the infant stages, so there is not much to report on that.

After all of this travelling is done, I will have the option to return to London in September to start the new school year. This is a choice and one I will not make until later in the summer. I know this sounds like loads of travelling (because it is), but it is something I want to do. I will have to check into financing it, but I am hoping I can find a way to pull it off.

Basically this whole decision came down to my gut instinct. Something in my mind was saying go home. This time around, I have decided to follow my gut. Now all I can do is hope I made the right choice and that all of this travelling works out.

Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, and messages while here. They all mean so much to me. Have a great week!!!!

Yours faithfully,
Adam

Adam, Ditto on what Dad said. I know I am truly looking forward to seeing you again, only to say farewell again. These are great opportunities, and you must follow your heart. I love you and miss you.
My prayers are also with you for your safety and happiness.
Love Mom

Adam, I also think you made the right decision. With everything you have done here (London) and everywhere you are going come monday, I think a completely new experience via South America will be more than welcome. I will see you tonight and tomorrow for Sunday roast!

My only wish is that we could wander through SA together and mutually benefit from our friends all over down there and be able to build up a whole different set of travelling experiences and memories.

Cheers mate, it has once again been brilliant being in London with you, if only for a couple of months this time.

-Eric
